As one of Taiwan's most sought-after bassists, Derrick Lin, also known as 林克安, has made waves across various musical genres. Whether setting the tone at sold-out concerts in major arenas or intimate jazz bars, Derrick effortlessly controls the ambiance, crafting mesmerizing bass lines and rhythms.

While his roots lie in Mandarin pop music, Derrick's heart also beats fervently for jazz and classical music. His ability to switch seamlessly between the electric bass and double bass has enabled him to navigate both the jazz and classical realms. He regularly performs with esteemed musicians and has been instrumental in many album recordings and film scores.

In 2019, Derrick founded the crossover jazz band, Zy The Way 中庸. Fearlessly innovating, the band experiments by blending jazz with diverse elements such as ancient Chinese poetry and adapted Taiwanese pop music. Within this ensemble, besides showcasing his prowess on the bass, Derrick also takes the lead in arranging and mixing. By 2020, he joined the TPO Jazz Orchestra, taking on dual roles as the band manager and bassist. Within a year, they've graced stages at major music festivals, including the Taipei Jazz Festival, Taichung Jazz Festival, Hsinchu Living Festival, and Dadaocheng International Arts Festival. Derrick is poised to continually push boundaries in the music industry, with a promise of even more outstanding creations in the near future.
